[ANATOL]

Unfortunetly not live, but online I was lucky enough to meet Deniz, who is as kind as he talented – as it turned out. Let Pineapple introduce the brand he created, [anatol].

about [anatol]

Founded by Deniz Oeztuna in 2018 for one simple reason: Emphasizing the mergence of diverse cultures and attitudes by focusing on aesthetics. [anatol], meaning „the one that comes from the orient“, builds bridges where they are missing and wants to encourage to question before judging. Deniz Oeztuna is a concept led designer. Being of turkish origin and the descendant of guest workers who came to Germany in the 1970’s, he grew up absorbing various cultures and mindsets. Driven by socio-cultural matters he aims to stand up for a future in unity with his work at [anatol].

[We build bridges. We encourage to question. We represent a distinct mindset.

We claim our own point of view.

We emphasize the mergence of diverse cultures and attitudes.

We distinguish what you have in mind.]

[anatol]’s vision is to create wearable artworks by interdisciplinarily collaborating with contemporary artists each season, bringing contrary topics together to a single concept. With a confronting design aesthetic and no gender specification [anatol] claims it’s own niche between high fashion and streetwear. Highlighting each collection itself by bringing more than a soul into the garments, [anatol] produces in Italy with the highest standards in manufacturing and fabrics to create a durable quality product.

In „EDITION one: Buildings & Bodies“ for Spring/Summer 2020 [anatol] is questioning if anonymity in our society is a blessing or a curse. For this, the brand collaborated with the Berlin based photographer Florian Hetz (on instagram: @fxhetz ; interview with him: here + here). The result is a capsule collection with a distinct concept and intense imagery. Implementing this topic into wearable artworks it becomes personal and subjective. Read more about it here.
