A pedestal for nude positivity – introduce ‘The Smallest Stage’ project by Yves Drieghe.
The Smallest Stage has the most intimate and extraverted ambition at the same time. The project wants to give models, photographer and recipients the opportunity to deepen their experience of nudity.
Anyone can take the stage. They decide how to express their body, their movements, their personality. They bring their own ideas forward, and expose themselves the way they want. Whether that is self-assured, careful, withdrawn or outgoing: without the ballast of clothing or accessories it is performance and a picture of their own identity. It is an invitation to embrace your body and every part of it. This expression can be arousing, sexual, neutral, intimate, embracing and/or welcoming,… This is the person who takes the stage choice.
The Smallest Stage brings everyone to the stage: by taking it to different places the photographer makes it accessible for any body type or color, gender, age, or sexuality.
The Smallest Stage is a project by Yves Drieghe, who has been investigating the body in photography through different series. All of them are intimate and personal. He does not steer them who he portrays, yet gives them the opportunity to express themselves.
