How did you meet?
R: Il me semble qu’on a commencé à parler un peu sur Grindr puis sur Tinder où je lui ai proposé de faire des photos.
I think we started talking a bit on Grindr and then on Tinder where I asked her to take some pictures.
S: Je crois que c’était sur grindr, mais j’ai du aller liker des photos sur son lien Instagram pour qu’il me remarque, car je préférais que professionnellement ca passe via Instagram. Mais je crois que ça n’a pas marché, j’ai du finir par le contacter sur grindr je crois ahah…
I think it was on Grindr, but I had to go link photos on his Instagram link to get him to notice me, as I preferred it professionally via Instagram. But I guess it didn’t work, I must have ended up contacting him on grindr I think ahah…
What was the first impression of each other?
R: Ça remonte un peu, mais il m’a de suite tapé dans… L’oreille ! Simon a une voix envoutante.
It goes back a bit, but it immediately struck me as… My ear! Simon has a bewitching voice.
S: Il va l’apprendre par l’interview du coup: je l’ai trouvé très charmant.
He’ll find out from this interview: I found him very charming.
What was the most difficult thing during the shooting?
R: C’est toujours difficile pour moi de photographier des personnes qui s’y connaissent en photo. Simon étant modèle ET photographe, je me laisse vite intimider dans ce type de situation. N’étant pas vraiment photographe, je me sens scruté et parfois jugé même si ce n’est pas le cas au final.
It’s always difficult for me to photograph people who know about photography. Simon being a model AND a photographer, I am quickly intimidated in this type of situation. Not being a real photographer, I feel scrutinised and sometimes judged, even if it’s not the case in the end.
S: C’était excitant ahah mais je tenais à rester professionnel, il fallait mettre mes désirs de côté!
It was exciting 🙂 but I wanted to remain professional, I had to put my desires aside!
What was the most funny thing during the shooting?
R: On a tous les deux des personnalités assez calmes et réservés donc même si la séance s’est très bien passée, c’était finalement assez sérieux.
We both have quite quiet and reserved personalities so even though the session went very well, it was actually quite serious.
S: Travailler la proximité entre Raphaël et moi pour certaines photos, c’était un contact spécial et amusant : “Faire croire des choses” par l’intermédiaire des photos.
Working on the closeness between Raphael and me for some of the photos was a special and fun contact: “Making things believe” through the photos.
What you do when you are not taking photos?
R: Je suis triste quand je n’ai pas de séance photos de prévu 🙂 Du coup je geek, ça fait rapidement passer le temps !
I’m sad when I don’t have a photo shoot planned 🙂 So I geek out, it passes the time quickly!
What you do when you’re not modelling?
S: Je suis étudiant. I’m a student.
What makes you happy?
R: Apprendre de nouvelles choses. Learning new things.
S: Mes amis et la musique. My friends and the music.
What turns you on?
R: Les jockstraps. Jockstraps.
S: La folie des grandeurs. The folly of grandeur.

R: Réservé, passionné et pensif. Shy, passionate and thoughtful.
S: Sensible, passionné et ouvert. Sensitive, passionate and open minded.
