BUTU BILIKHODZE

A rather long but beautiful analogue photography article in today’s post, straight from Tbilisi, Georgia. Introducing Butu Bilikhodze photography.

“I am Butu Bilikhodze, I first came in contact with film photography in Tbilisi (Georgia) in 2009 when I first bought an old Soviet film camera, which was not so good, it is easy to buy a Soviet camera in Tbilisi cheaply. After that I started to get interested in photography, I have been taking photos for years and not so long ago I became interested and tried to shoot homoerotics. In Georgia it is difficult to agree and find a guy who will take photos in this genre. During the Covid Pandemic when everything stopped, I spent more time thinking creatively about what and how I was interested in and what I wanted to shoot. In my opinion, my photos are very light and varied I called my series “Lonely Boys Paradise’, where boys are sad, unhappy and alone. Handsome guys who have been abandoned. I like the relationship between body and plants, my photos show how flowers, nature and bodies are combined with each other. Georgia is considered as a homophobic country, so it is very difficult to photograph homoerotics, see a model and explain it. However it seems I am lucky and I take photos to guys, sometimes even without a face, it is first to gain experience and then to find yourself, to prove to everyone that you can do what you want. I would like to dedicate this article to every guy who is looking for himself, his own opportunities, in Georgia and abroad.” – Butu
