BATE CRUSH X PHARAOH

Better not bother holding up your pants — who needs ’em anyway! An interview with Pharaoh, penned and shot by Bate Crush.

Tell us a bit about your background. Where did you grow up, and what’s your cultural heritage?

Pharaoh: I was born and raised in Melbourne, but my heritage is Egyptian. My family moved from Alexandria to start a new life in Australia. I’ve always said I’m the “son of the Pharaoh,” so when I created my alter ego, I wanted to play up my ethnicity – @pharaohphag was born.

Where did the name @pharaohphag come from?

Pharaoh: It came from wanting to acknowledge and reclaim my heritage while having fun with my sexuality. It’s bold and a little cheeky – which felt perfect for what I was creating online.

How did you first get into posting online? Was X/Twitter always the plan?

Pharaoh: A friend told me about all the Melbourne gays posting on Twitter, so I decided to check it out. I made an account and started posting some suggestive photos, but never full nudes. It was a fun way to connect with the community and see some local dick at the same time. One thing led to another and eventually I started posting full cock and ass for the world to see.

At what point did you realize this could become a more serious path or form of content creation?

Pharaoh: Once I started gaining followers, it crossed my mind to get into more content creation. Other creators reached out wanting to collab, so I decided to give it a go.

How has being a sex-positive person helped you in this space?

Pharaoh: I’ve always been a very sex-positive person and open to new experiences. Starting content creation has helped me meet a heap of new people and try a lot of new things – including group play, DP, pup play and being tied up. I’ve been ticking off all my sexual fantasies one by one.

Any highlights from your content journey so far? Or fantasies you’ve explored?

Pharaoh: Honestly, every shoot brings something new. I’m just grateful for how many different people I’ve met and how many fantasies I’ve been able to live out. And I’ve got a big backlog of content I’m excited to release.

Do you have any dream collaborators you’d love to work with in the future?

Pharaoh: It would be a dream to work with some major players in the industry, including Sir Peter, Rhyheim, Andy Rodrigues and Ten Inch Top, just to name a few. But I know I’m still at the start of my journey and I’m excited to see where it takes me.

You have a really distinctive collection of tattoos. When did that become part of your expression?

Pharaoh: I’ve always been into drawing and art, so it was inevitable I’d end up covered in tattoos. I started with a few naked lady tattoos and then finally decided it was time to get some homoerotic designs on my body.

Tell us about your first homoerotic tattoo—how did that come about?

Pharaoh: My first was a male torso statue tied in ropes with Monstera leaves coming out from the neck. It was tattooed by @zerotattoos, the owner of queer tattoo studio @crucibletattooco, where I’ve gotten a lot of my tattoos from. Zero had posted a few designs similar to what I had in mind, so I reached out with the concept and he was interested. The torso represented my body goal and the ropes and Monstera leaves represent hard and soft, bound and free.

Is there one tattoo that feels most personal or iconic to you?

Pharaoh: My second and probably most recognisable tattoo is my jockstrap butt guy, done by @_disinhibition. I’d been following him for a while and really liked his style, so I hit him up with the idea and he was keen. We both searched for inspiration pics to come up with the design and Adam nailed the brief. He also went on to do my big dick devil man tattoo on my shin.

Pup play features in your ink too. What drew you to that kink?

Pharaoh: Pup play has always intrigued me and I find it really arousing. I really liked @bigboypinups’ art, so when I saw his pup character, I knew I had to get a tattoo from him. He also did my fallen angel / Jesus / Icarus tattoo on my chest. Jamie unfortunately passed in 2023—otherwise I’d be covered in his work by now.

You’ve spoken openly about being uncut, but you’ve mentioned your relationship with foreskin has shifted over time. Can you talk about how your feelings around being uncut have evolved?

Pharaoh: It’s pretty normal being uncut in Australia, but growing up I struggled with my foreskin and used to wish I was cut. I just enjoyed the aesthetic of a beautiful pink head on a cut cock. When I lived in Scotland, I had a friend who had the operation as an adult and I seriously considered it. But I learned to love myself and every part of my body. I’m so glad I kept my foreskin because it’s now one of my favourite features. I love tugging on it and fingering it. I recently got docked and it was so hot I almost instantly came.
