MICHAEL – DOMINIK / PNPPL 10 EXTRA

Dominik and Michael have already been featured on the website, and now they’ve finally made it into print in the 10th issue of PNPPL magazine (full preview of ISSUE 10 here). Let’s get to know them a little better!

How did you find each other for the photo shoot? Was there any preparation before shooting?

Dominik: Michael reached out to me via Instagram to see if I was interested in doing an intimate shoot in a very simple setting. I was, since we had worked together before, and every single time it had been a fun, relaxed, and easy-going experience with beautiful results. To prepare this shooting we discussed loads of clothing options and Michael went to more than one shop to find the right undies. As you can see we went for classic white briefs in the end.

Michael: Dominik and I have shot together several times before, so we knew each other well and didn’t need much preparation for a warm-up. Still, we did take some time to think about how the shoot should look and what direction we wanted to go in. I wanted to stay true to my style and had this vision in my mind of intimate photos of Dominik in a small room. It was supposed to feel like I was just observing, not really part of the scene. The result was very honest and free photos that could only be created through mutual trust.

What was the first impression of each other?

Dominik: I thought, “Now that’s going to be easy” – Michael is such a kind and cheerful person who loves to laugh. So I immediately knew it would be fun to work with him.

Michael: Our first encounter was during a shoot for which I had reached out to him. He walked in, I presented my ideas, and he simply said, “Alright, let’s go.” Pretty cool guy, relaxed and warm. Definitely has a deeper voice than I expected.

If there was – what was the most difficult thing during the shooting?

Dominik: For me, it’s always the first couple of minutes. It feels a bit weird to be in front of the camera with all the attention on me. I forget how to move naturally — my body senses stress, and I start to sweat even in cold temperatures 😀 Luckily, that feeling goes away after a short while. From then on, I just go with the flow, make suggestions, follow directions, and try to have fun.

Michael: As always, the hardest part is letting go. Especially when it involves the naked body, there has to be trust in the room so that both sides feel comfortable. But for the two of us, that usually happens pretty quickly. There weren’t any real challenges to overcome. Working with Dominik is more than easy.

Dominik, what do you do when you are not modeling?

In summer, I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. I love traveling with my Jeep and rooftop tent, exploring lakes, beaches, and other beautiful spots. There are plenty of them in Germany — and of course, in Spain too.
Since I can’t travel every single day (yet), I stick to my job as a quality manager, go to the gym, and try to maintain some kind of routine. Every now and then, you might also find me in a club in Berlin.

Michael, what do you do when you are not modeling?

I travel a lot, enjoy being around people, and try to absorb art and culture wherever I can. Everything I do comes from inspiration like films, galleries, theatre, and so on. I think if I’m not taking pictures, I’m looking for new things to discover so I can eventually bring them into my photography.

What makes you happy?

Dominik: Being surrounded by people I like, preferably in a house by the water, having a cold drink. A good meal. Reading in the hammock. Swimming.

Michael: When people are warm-hearted and passionate about something. Whatever it is. Oh, and coffee. Or wine. Paired with a good massage. And a house in the South. But that’s it. The simple things in life 😉

What turns you on?

Dominik: Come and find out – I will whisper it into your ear. (Don’t worry, I only bite when requested)

Michael: Decency and manners. And modesty.
