‘Burning Churches’ is a series of photos that seeks to illustrate a personal odyssey of being
born in Colombia, being homosexual, and “neurodivergent.” What might be considered a disadvantage for me, becomes an opportunity.
My life changed the moment I decided to explore the art of photography without fear of
being misunderstood. Naturally, I can already be overanalyzed for being clumsy in
performing common activities.
Two years ago, I met a group of Movers who inspired me so much to create this piece, which
is not only based on detachment from the family nucleus but also seeks to represent the
internal struggle that takes place in the healing process after being subjected to conversion
therapy.
