A very visual publication featuring photographic portfolios taken in intimate collaboration between photographer and male models. A space of freedom in print where male nudity is celebrated. As previously with issues 3 and 4 last year, two different issues are published simultaneously.

Each issue is limited edition: 300 copies only, big format (29x38cm / 11,5x 15 inches). he publication is 80 full-color pages digitally printed in thick paper (80 grs). SHOP HERE

“Yes, I can shoot digital with many lights, big production in a studio, etc… I can do that but usually I prefer to shoot 35 mm film with a pretty simple compact camera and natural light. Preferably on location with a window that allows natural light to enter in the room. I do love sun light, but if it’s a foggy rainy day, well, then the photos probably will be a bit darker that day. That simplicity allows me and the model to focus on what’s more important: the collaboration between subject and photographer, the poses, the direction, the intention of the images.” – Luis Venegas for SICKY magazine (read more)

“I admit my idea doing The Intim Mates News Paper was is pretty basic: let’s celebrate male nudity. When there’s so much censorship around nudity on certain digital platforms, print is the best place to develop daring content. Also the big format and bold graphic design is fundamental. Those early sexy gay magazines from decades past often were tiny, like they were little secret publications. Still many of those that are done nowadays are quite small.
