An analogue story with Blake, captured by Steve Viksjo.
“I’m a photographer and creative director living in Hudson, NY. I shoot with 35mm film using my 1980’s Nikon FE2, using only natural or available light sources. I am most interested in documenting queer and gay people, at ease and comfortable in their own skin, in their own spaces. Our community often feels on display, a topic up for debate, like we have to perform to fulfill a need, a purpose, or an identity that the world expects from us. I’m looking to capture the down times, when we’re just hanging out at home, feeling ourselves, and each other, and completely at peace. Creative people enjoying each other’s company, collaborating and making art that feels good, and that represents us. We were here, and these photos prove it. Blake is a beautiful soul, and a beautiful person, and a natural in front of the camera. We shot this story this summer at his home in Catstkill, NY.” – Steve
