DMYTRO KOMISSARENKO – OLEKSANDR – PNPPL 8 EXTRA

The third PNPPL zine extra is an interview with a photographer, Dmytro Komissarenko, who is probably well known to many of you, and his model, Oleksandr. Little behind the scenes secrets about how the two of them did their series ‘Unmasked Vulnerability’ for the new PNPPL magazine.

How did you find each other for the photo shoot? – Was there any preparation before shooting?

Dmytro: When you offered me to shoot for the new issue of PNPPL, I didn’t have any idea. But there were many different feelings inside me that I could portray. The only question is the person who is in the frame, and it was from him that I could push myself and choose exactly the topic that I can tell. I made an announcement on Instagram stories. Surprisingly, Oleksandr was one of the first to write me, and I immediately understood what would be the subject of my photo story. In fact, this topic bothers me and affects my inner state. Preparation took some time. I told Oleksandr the idea and everything that was necessary for the shooting, and he took on the issue of sewing the cuffs and jabot.

Oleksandr: I have been following Dmytro’s works on Instagram for quite a long time. And I didn’t even dream of getting into his camera lens. But I saw Dmytro’s announcement in the same Instagram and wrote to him, and it seems on the same day he replied that he had an idea, sent references and we started preparing for the photo shoot.

What was the first impression of each other?

Dmytro: You know, when I first see a person directly while shooting a certain idea, I automatically give that person the qualities of the character I have to shoot. Since Oleksandr is an actor and I saw his Instagram profile, I was sure that he and his character would match the vibe. So it happened.

Oleksandr: Yes. We discussed ideas, props. It was necessary to find a medieval gate. In the 16th century, the so-called “ruff” collar (as it was called in England – ruff), “gorgera” (in Spain – gorguera) or “freza” or “fraise” (in French) came into fashion. It also had other names: “bryzhy”, from the Polish bryże, which translates as “border”, and “mill-mill”. I am very grateful to my friend, she sewed it in the evening, so everything was ready.

If there was – what was the most difficult thing during the shooting?

Dmytro: Personally, I did not experience any difficulties. It seemed to me that we were both doing what we were good at. Regarding how Oleksandr behaved naked, if it was a difficulty for him, it is better to ask him himself.

Oleksandr: I admired Dmytro and his works, so I was very excited. On the photo shoot Dmytro turned out to be very easy to communicate with and sexy 🙂 and from the first minutes he was attracted to me. 10 minutes and I already completely trusted him, and in my opinion, we have a good tandem. I was in awe of how it works!

Dmytro, what do you do when you are not photographing?

When I’m not taking pictures I’m trying to sleep. Of course, I’m joking (or wishful thinking). I’m walking. I walk a lot. And I’m creating my own newspaper, NVRMIND Magazine (HERE).

Oleksandr, what do you do when you are not modelling?

I work in the theater. I also work with children and teach acting skills. And after the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, I went to TRO (territorial defense), where I cooked for the military for about a year, thus discovering and developing my talent for cooking. So now I still work in a restaurant.

What makes you happy?

Dmytro: What really makes me happy is that I have the opportunity to do what I love. This is again about photography and creating a newspaper. Currently, these are not just words about something common, about the fact that people can do anything they want and get pleasure from it. Now I put into it the context of what is happening in my country. And everything I feel can be multiplied by three.

Oleksandr: My job, which has become my hobby, makes me happy. I am extremely happy to meet friends and relatives whom, unfortunately, I have not seen for more than a year because of the war. The achievements of my students also make me happy. Whenever I’m in a bad mood, my dog Sonia lifts me up 🙂 And of course, meetings with interesting and talented people like Dmytro.

What makes you horny?

Dmytro: Oh, now I will surprise you. Dressed people – it sounds horny. Seriously, I don’t find naked people in photos to be sexually arousing. It’s completely different for me. In the context in which you ask, it is most likely charisma.

Oleksandr: The thought of spontaneous sex with an unknown dick in an unusual place. Sex with several partners, mind and talent too.
