EMILIO MARTÍN

Constelación Fragmentada ( Fragmented Constellation) – a new project, by Emilio Martín.

At first this project was not going to be a project at all, I simply began to embroider male bodies, from a study perhaps more anatomical, that’s why it began to be called Anatomy.A series of bodies from different points of view. I began to wonder and question the reason for this obsession and admiration for the male body. Where was he born from and why? How he sometimes got there, making reference to sexuality. Then answers and conclusions began to come to me, I observed that it was a lack of love, that it was not simply that I liked the man’s body, but that there was something else. When I delved into it – where this emptiness of love came from- I came to the conclusion that in a very important part of my life I was missing my father. Not because I wanted to, but because life sometimes gives us things like that. This conclusion came with my sexual relationships, almost always with people older than me. On many occasions with these people he was not looking for the merely sexual, but moments of intimacy. The exchange of caresses, the care, the complicit silences.

This project will be exhibited in Madrid from June 4 to the end of July, at the Umbral De Primavera.
