A TALE OF A LOCAL FIRE

The project is a reflection on the essence of human habitation, and how the symbolic, social, and emotional connections around it can be manifested in everyday life images.
This series of paintings were created during the pandemic lockdown. While I was at home, I discovered that we inhabit, not only a house or space and time; But also a physical body, and nowadays with the social distancing strategies, a digital version of ourselves too. These paintings contain raw, honest, and dreamy representations of my perspective on how I’ve been dealing with this moment of human history. I think a lot about the challenges as a millennial, as Latin American, and as a gay man in a world that is constantly changing, and seem no longer to be the same as for the generations that preceded us.My desire is to share my feelings thru these paintings and maybe find mutual connections with people who have been reflecting on the same issues. Because this tale of a local fire may find it’s way to be not so local after all.
