MONOGRAM YOURSELF is a genderfree t-shirt (155g/m2) and sweatshirt (300g/m2) project made from 100% cotton, delivered in various styles and colours. In Scott’s style, he chose to digitise each individual letter and place his handmade artisanal artworks straight onto garments. Showing folds, threads, hand and machine stitch, scanned shadows, raw edges & textured layers.
In his signature approach of examining organic form, drawing the abstract with found printed matter, twisting and hinging collage and bold shapes to juxtapose identities and recreate narratives. Ever playing with the risqué, balancing humour, colour and vibrancy, mixing references and object are important to his process. From a hard hat, toilet seat, Monroe’s iconic smile reveal themselves throughout these 26 artworks hidden amongst a leather harness, crucifix, beaming full-moon and some floating cowboy boots, with the letter ‘V’ pointing the camera back at us.
