Louis Kerckhof is a visual artist based in Belgium. He is best known for his portrait and fashion photography. Among other things, he identifies himself as gay and struggled with this at a young age. Therefore identity, gender, and queer are recurring themes in his work and he is driven to photograph social changes in society that are also related to these themes.
His latest project ‘QUEER WE ARE’ shows different analogue portraits from people who are part of the queer community. Up to the present day, he is still working on this project and constantly looking for new people to photograph. His goal is to give queer people a bigger representation, to show beauty in diversity, and to question the cisgender heteronormative society.
