For centuries, the structure that defines genders imposed on women a private existence, devoted to the family in a kind of domestic imprisonment. It was up to the man the role of State agent. MAN – a public figure by imposition – is responsible for maintaining powers through politics, capitalism and patriarchy. What is considered an ‘ideal male’ is a cell of a public power defined by the idea of nation and its technologies of erasure, epistemicide, necropolitics, and also a biased invention of heroes and outcasts in the collective imagination. Figures outside the ‘ideal male’ are systematically made invisible and examples of patriarchal interest are reiterated by imagery: heroes are created in memory, statues erected in squares, faces are printed on banknotes and history books.

Durante séculos, a estrutura que define os gêneros impôs às mulheres uma existência privada, devotada à família numa espécie de aprisionamento doméstico. Coube ao homem o papel de agente do Estado. O HOMEM – figura pública por imposição – é responsável pela manutenção de poderes através da política, capitalismo e patriarcado. Aquilo que se considera ‘masculino ideal’ é uma célula de um poder público definido pela ideia de nação e suas tecnologias de apagamento, epistemicídio, necropolítica, e também invenção tendenciosa de heróis e párias no imaginário coletivo. Figuras fora do ‘masculino ideal’ são sistematicamente invisibilizadas e exemplos de interesse patriarcal são reiteradas pela produção imagética: heróis são criados na memória, estátuas erguidas nas praças, rostos são impressos nas cédulas e livros de história.

Brazil is under the political domination of a family publicly known as misogynistic and homophobic family with ideals similar to neo-Nazism. In the beginning of 2020, before the pandemic, the former responsible for Culture in Brazil paraphrased a speech by the Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels to talk about the direction of Brazil’s arts. Nothing outside capitalist, Christian and heterosexual morality would be promoted by the State and the silencing of manifestations of art that spoke about race, gender, feminism and sexuality would be imposed. With the arrival of the pandemic, the Brazilian artistic expression ended at the public level.

O Brasil está sob o domínio político de uma família sabidamente misógina e homofóbica, com ideais similares ao neonazismo. No começo de 2020, antes da pandemia, o antigo responsável pela Cultura no Brasil parafraseou um discurso do ministro da propaganda Nazista Joseph Goebbels para falar do rumo das artes do Brasil. Nada fora da moralidade capitalista, cristã e heterossexual seria fomentado pelo Estado e o silenciamento de manifestações da arte que falassem sobre raça, gênero, feminismo e sexualidade seria imposto. Com a chegada da pandemia, a manifestação artística brasileira se encerrou em nível público.
