We seen him as a model (check it out here), and now finally he is on Pineapple with his artworks. Let’s Pine over Alejandro Manzano Tomás artworks.
“My name is Alejandro Manzano Tomás. I was born in Madrid, Spain and I studied Fine Arts in my hometown and also in Hamburg, Germany.
I do a lot of things; I write, I do photography and I am interested in audiovisual media, but above all I draw. To draw you only need a pencil, a paper and some concentration. For me, drawing has always been a moment of disconnection from the world, a moment of tranquility where time has stopped, where the only thing that moves is my hand and my eyes.
About the theme of my drawings I could say that, underneath all that eroticism and sometimes sexuality there is a study of the representation. Drawing is a constant struggle because you have to know how to treat the outlines, how to generate the lights and shadows and finally how to build an attractive image, and for that it is crucial to know the functions of the line. Colour also has a great compositional value. I like to say that when I draw, I deconstruct the image to understand it’s beauty and then generate my own vision of beauty.
If there’s one thing I’ve noticed, it’s that we don’t observe enough.
Everything is full of small details, small details that we ignore, but once you discover them you feel that you’re not looking at the same thing you’ve always seen. Drawing is a good exercise to find out those small details that reveal the real image of things.” -Alejandro
