CRISTIAN LACRUÁ

‘To be blessed to be dressed’ – I agree, how about you? A series of self-portraits by Cristian Lacruá from Columbia.

“I called the series “TOO BLESSED TO BE DRESSED” and the idea with the shoot was to explore concepts of intimacy and the time spent alone, the series of photos are thought off as a window left open to the lurking eye so they can witness all those things we hide from the public eye and we enjoy doing while we aren’t seen.” – Cristian

About Cristian: I am a Colombian self taught photographer, most of my work is focused on self-portraits, nudity and queerness. I think of my style in photography as highly influenced by classics in art such as greek sculpture and reinassance paintings, but also by more contemporary referents such as Avedon, Cindy Sherman, Diane Arbus, Nan Golding, among others. I recently got my master’s degree in aesthetics and artistic creation and I have participated in exhibitions around my country, Colombia and most recently in ArteFiera in Bologna, in the official launch of the first book on mobile photography: Familiar stranger, produced by Phmuseum.
