About ‘Home’
“I have been working on a series called HOME for the last few years. HOME is a series of images of nude men in their homes. The idea behind HOME is that you can tell a lot more about an individual based off of whats inside their home. Home is a safe place for most people where we get to be ourselves without judgment of others. We tend to collect things that are important to us and put them on display in our safe places. I wanted to take that idea and use it to tell a story about the individuals I photograph. I think it gives a more in depth look at who they are. We as people dress so that others perceive us the way we want to be seen. I think stripping that away and photographing people in a place that is there safe haven reveals so much more. To me home isn’t just a building. Home is a place that makes you feel safe and free. A place that you’re glad to return to whenever possible.” – Nicholas Burrowes
