“These series of watercolours are part of a third phase in my projects, which helps us to understand how the project has evolved conceptually, formally and technically. Therefore, in this third phase I painted a watercolour series with a more personal avant-garde colour palette influenced by artist like: Jenny Saville and Lucian Freud. Currently, I continued making watercolours of this type from recycled digital material that allows me to speak through my interpretation of that topic being able to define and bound my speech about dissenting identities, in relation to our body, sex and sexuality.
In addition, to show how the roles of masculinity and femininity have been built in our society.
The curious thing to note about this methodology is that through this re-appropriation I totally disinterested with the primary intention that said author had at the time of taking his photograph to transfer it to my speech. This discourse continues to be the trajectory of showing bodies and identities, but much more enriched by the experience and ideas of new political approaches, it is also characterised by having a more introspective and personal aspect, but always trying to show “counter-sexual” bodies that I would say Paul B. Precious. This pictorial project allowed me to carry out and develop other photographic projects simultaneously to this one, as it is in the case of: Alternative Uses of sexuality: masturbation, dildo and anus. That I will soon begin to show, interested in creating my own photographic material through an artistic-political discourse that takes shape from a post-porno perspective, influenced by Queer Theory, the Trans-feminist Movement, and theorists such as Michel Foucault, Paul B. Preciadio, or Thomas W. Laqueur, among others.” – Cao Kaal
“Esta serie de acuarelas forman parte, por decirlo de algún modo, de una tercera fase en mis proyectos, que nos sirve para comprender como ha ido evolucionando mi proyecto tanto en la parte formal y técnica como en la parte conceptual. Por tanto, en esta tercera fase, realicé una serie de acuarela con una paleta de colores mucho más avanzada y propia, influenciada por la artista Jenny Saville y Lucian Freud. Actualmente, sigo realizando acuarelas de este tipo a partir de material digital ajeno que me permita hablar a través de mi interpretación de ese tema ya más definido y configurado en mi discurso sobre las identidades disidentes, y ello siempre en relación a nuestro cuerpo, sexo y sexualidad.
Además, de mostrar cómo se han construido los roles de masculinidad y feminidad en nuestra sociedad.
Lo curioso a destacar de esta metodología es que por medio de esta reapropiación me desintereso totalmente de la intención primaria que tuviera dicho autor en el momento de la realización de su fotografía para trasladarla a mi discurso. Este discurso continúa siendo la trayectoria de mostrar cuerpos e identidades, pero mucho más enriquecido por la experiencia y las ideas de nuevos enfoques políticos, así mismo se caracteriza por tener un aspecto más introspectivo y personal, pero siempre intentando mostrar cuerpos “contrasexuales” que diría Paul B. Preciado. Propongo distintas reflexiones respecto a los cuerpos trans, el reflejo o no de lo que la sociedad nos exige, hablando de vaginas de hombre y penes de mujer, incluso cuestionando esta clase de asociaciones.
Este proyecto pictórico me permitió realizar y desarrollarme en otros proyectos fotográficos simultáneamente a éste, como es en el caso de: Usos Alternativos de la sexualidad: la masturbación, el dildo y el ano. Que pronto empezaré a mostrar, interesado en crear mi propio material fotográfico atravesando un discurso artístico-político que coge forma desde una perspectiva posporno, influenciado por la Teoría Queer, el Movimiento Transfeminista, y teóricos como Michel Foucault, Paul B. Preciado, o Thomas W. Laqueur, entre otros.” – Cao Kaal
