“I’m still pretty new to illustration, it kind of started on a whim and I haven’t stopped since I started. My main background is in creative writing and poetry. But visual arts had opened up a really fun avenue to explore the things I consider important in a pretty magical way. Mythology, fairy tale and sexuality have always been at the core of my work, regardless of medium. But when applied to illustration, I’m able to explore in a way that’s playful, soft, relatable and sexual without being pornographic. It’s opened up a new area I really wasn’t expecting: humour.” – Maz
