Jey Tall has been featured previously on our site, but it is always a pleasure to feature his works. This time we display his analogue series with Yoann. Read more about this session below.
“That was a sunny day and I wanted to capture the day with a balance of clear/dark. I find the contrast between the sun of the day and the darkness of the black and white roll interesting.
I asked a model, I already worked with. As he was free for one hour, I came to his place and started to work. His roommate was in the room next to us! I remember the model (Yoann) was very at ease being naked and didn’t care about his roommate pass by the corridor and see him naked. As usual, I never plan anything so I discovered his flat when I arrived. I quickly ask him to sit on the sofa, then stand by the window.
Everything was quiet as I don’t work with music or anything.
I find the contrast between his masculine body (tattoos, piercings, muscles) and how the light goes on his body interesting. Very gentle, very soft. As I work on analog only, I wasn’t sure of the result, but I knew it would be cool as I felt very happy with the poses and the light. When I got the pictures developed, I felt very happy about the pictures. What strikes me the most, was the balance between the body and the light.
