VILELA VALENTIN

Vilela Valentin is a painter known for his homosurrealist work, combines the male nude often with satirical images.

Influenced by Art Nouveau masters and pioneering masters of gay art like Tom of Finland, Paul Cadmus, Leyendecker among others. He uses his academic formation in psychology and knowledge of the deepest desires of the masculine imagination to impress in his art the fantasy of this same universe. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he moved to Portugal in 1990 and currently lives in Porto.
His work is more widely known in European countries such as Switzerland, Holland, France, Spain and Italy, where he maintains a close relationship with several artists of this artistic aspect. He uses, pencils, oil, acrylics among other materials. Have influenced with their style various artists .
His career was marked by two main works: “Romano” and “How Tears are made”.
He has already exhibited in: Hollywood, Miami, Sydney, Paris, Sion, Amsterdam, Braga, Vancouver, Rome, Lausanne, Valais, Almassora, Benicàssim and Castelló.
